<p>We have recently published a suite of eight new Practice Notes summarising the key requirements under UK REACH, which replaces EU REACH in Great Britain. </p><p>Under UK REACH the roles and responsibilities of the European Chemicals Agency are exercised by the Health and safety Executive and the Secretary of State fulfils the role of the European Commission and takes decisions relating to substance restrictions, including proposing new restrictions, re-examining existing restrictions and amending the list of restricted substances, and authorisations.</p><p>UK businesses that purchase substances from EU or EEA companies may become importers under UK REACH, and assume a more significant regulatory role.</p><p>The new framework and the roles and duties under UK REACH are set out along with details of transitional arrangements, including ‘grandfathering’ of EU REACH registrations, making a Downstream User Import Notification (DUIN) in order to continue to import substances from the EU or EEA and the transitional provisions for authorisation.</p><p>In addition, guidance is given on consor</p>
